Brian Gaither is a Manager in CapEx & Investments at Laureate Education, Inc., a global company based in Baltimore, Maryland. He has worked in corporate operations and finance since graduating Cornell University in 1998 with a B.A. in History. His experience includes work as a corporate legal assistant with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, a global corporate law firm based in New York City; serving as the chief cost accountant in charge of ThyssenKrupp AG’s contract to manage the Boeing Company’s global supply of aluminum and titanium, and managing the Enterprise Risk Management Program at Carnival Corporation & plc in Miami, Florida. He has also been employed in various finance roles by a private wealth advisory firm, Washington Mutual, Inc. and Xerox Corporation. He earned his MBA in 2005 from the University of Washington in Seattle.
Brian has also volunteered with local civic and political organizations in Miami, Seattle and Baltimore. From 2003 until 2008 he was a member of the USCG Reserves in Seattle and Miami. He speaks Spanish, Portuguese and French.
Matt Newcomer is an Assistant Vice President and Portfolio Management Officer in the Global Commercial Bank at Bank of America, working on the Healthcare and Institutions team within Specialized Industries. This team specializes in a wide range of financial, credit, and money management products for non-profit clients in the southeastern United States, while Matt’s portfolio of clients is concentrated in and around Baltimore City and Washington DC. Matt graduated from St. Mary's College of Maryland in 2005 with a BA in Economics and from the University of Baltimore in 2012 with an MBA in Finance. He bought his first home in 2012 in the Charles Village neighborhood of Baltimore City with his partner, Jayson. In his spare time he enjoys volunteering in the community, traveling, gardening, playing music, spending time with friends and his dog, Hank, and real estate investing.
Matt Thorn is the Executive Director of OutServer-SLDN, an organization focused on addressing issues related to military affairs and members of the LGBT Community. Previously, Matt has served as a board member and the Executive Director of Baltimore's GLCCB. Before that he was a fundraiser for Equality Maryland and Prince George's County African American Museum and Cultural Center.
Matt is graduate of Catholic University in Washington, DC, where he majored in International Relations.
